A: Yes. The Korean Government only considers people from the following as native speakers of English. You need to have been born in, or have been educated in one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK, and USA.

 

The only exception is if you were born outside one of these countries and became a naturalized citizen in one of these countries before grade seven (age 11).

 

We realize that there are many fluent speakers of English in countries not on this list, unfortunately these are the rules made by the South Korean Government and we cannot change them.
